ants!!!!. terrible food. bland and cheap tasting. on the way out there was a huge line of ants by the host stand
great sevice but the food was lacking. i eat a lot of indian food and this was not very tasty as indian cuisine goes definitely not the northern indian style bland to say the least the service was outstanding though greeted at the door and seated immediately never had an empty glass of water nan was pretty good just another crappy ethic restaurant in arkansas
Wonderful Adventure for us.. I myself had never had Indian food of any kind. We really enjoyed the food, and found it to be really in expensive. Each plate was an average of $11 and only 1.50 each for several kinds of breads. Each food had it's own taste. Most places the food is bland and all taste the same. We intend to become regulars there. It was an experience we are interested in sharing with our friends and family. People were really hospitable. They cared about keeping all the customers happy. The atmosphere and interior decorating was beautiful. It was unique in every way. My daughter is only 2 going on 3 and she loved the food also. The curry in the dish my husband had was not really spicy at all for those like me who are concerned about that. Instead it gave it a wonderful flavor.
Not Impressed....
Although The Star of India is well meaning, I am not very impressed with the cuisine. The food is comparable to that of would be "Tex-Mex" Indian food; basically Americanized Indian dishes.
This is unfortunate as many Arkansans have not had the opportunity to taste authentic Indian food and may judge their Indian food experience by a meal at Star.
Indian food really is delicious; it's somewhat of a small glimpse into a culture that can only be known as that of India.
Good Luck! Keep Trying!
easily best indian food lr. can't go wrong here for fine tasting indian food. ethnic food choices in little rock are scarce, but that doesn't keep these guys from doing a fantastic job of preaparing a wide assortment of delicious indian dishes. the flat bread - name escapes me - is great. there are an assortment of vegetarian dishes. and all the meat dishes are good. wife's favorite is the lentils. budget conscious tip - hit up the lunchtime buffet!
Very friendly staff, average food. Service is great, staff is very friendly. However food is just average.
The best Indian anywhere!. I have eaten at Indian restaurants from Florida to Washington and Star of India is the best! Sammy, the owner has greeted me every time I have stepped in the door and knew my name after the first time. The food is great, the service is excellent, and the price is moderate. It's not a showplace, but if you want great Indian food, this is the place.
Absolutely Fabulous. I've been to this restaurant plenty of times and I think its wonderful...of all the Indian restaurants I've tried, there hasn't ever been a restaurant like this! It's absolutely fabulous and I will continue to encourage people to try this place out cause its truely worth it. I also know the people who own the restaurant, Sam is a bit odd but he sure cooks up some good recipes!
