how a real bar should be.
i am a long term patron of the bar, and i love everything about it. the decor is old beer signs, canoes hanging from the ceiling, and graffiti. the lighting is dim and it can get a bit smoky, but it is the perfect intimate venue for seeing a local band or small touring national act. beer is cheap, and there is a good mixof generations there, although it definitely caters towards the "scenester type".
Whitewater is for beer and whiskey drinkin. It's a little dirty (don't get anything from the kitchen--have you looked back there?), but it usually has a good band playing and they don't usually have covers. Upstairs in the attic there's a pool table. Definitely a lot of rough edges, but that's what makes it Whitewater.
