Great Italian

Loved this place, been several times. Food is well cooked, perfect portions and the prices aren't too high.

Worst place in town!

by babyshaila1 at Citysearch

This was the first time I had visited Bene Vita, and I was NOT impressed. We got there around 11:20 for lunch and it took us until 12:15 to get our food. When we finally received our food it was COLD. I ordered pasta and the noodles were not fully cooked and the middle was still cold. Server was good, but all other staff members acted snobby and like we were a burden to them. I will not be going back to Bene Vita ever.

Bad experience

by DWeemsmith at Citysearch

First time to visit, very poor service, waiter seems to have forgitten we were there. I am easy to please and understand that every meal can not be perfect, however I could never recommend Bene Vita to anyone.

Two guest were served cold food. Food was simply not good! This was an experience I am going to have to make up to my guest. Nice atmosphere. Easy to get to.

  • Pros: Location - atmosphere
  • Cons: Service - food

Dissapointed

by Whit47 at Citysearch

So, we went to Bene Vita for Mother's Day and we were very dissapointed. I really appreciate good food, but I felt like we could have taken them to Olive Garden and the food and service would have been better. FIrst off, the waitress forgot our drinks and we had to ask her to bring them. Two of our dishes were cold and no apology was offered. Cold shrimp and cold lobster are not very appetizing!

We had to ask for bread twice and the bread they serve before the meal was more like crunchy, oilly croutons. My dish was covered in so much thick alfredo sauce that I could barely eat it. I think this place is extremely over-rated judging from this experience. Two members of our party had been there previously and they said every time they had been, it was just "ok." I won't be going back and I wouldn't reccoment Bene Vita, especially not for a special occasion. On a positve note, the atmosphere was nice.

  • Pros: The place had a nice patio and nice atmosphere.
  • Cons: Cold food and bad service.

typical

So I get on here to write about the latest in a long string of bad visits to Loca Luna (Mark Abernathy's other restraunt next door) and see people calling him out for writing his own reviews under both and abreviation of his own name and his step-son's... Click on Bene Vita when I'm done, and what do I see here? Another review by the step son and one under his wife's name as well. Just keep that in mind when you read what "Brett" and "Lyne" have to say... Good job guys.

To be fair, while BeneVita is definitely hit-or-miss (it's the Abernathy trademark) it is a lot better than the rapidly sinking Luna. Don't expect authenticity but the lunch special is generally a sound bet for the cash.

nothing to write home about

by melinda_lr at Citysearch

Not what you expect out of a place this stuckup. The ambience is good but the food is inconsistent and the service is horrible. Untrained staff and improper temperatures are abundant here. We had tiramisu for dessert and the waiter informs me 20 minutes later that the lady fingers used to make it would not be soaked in espresso! Where is the authenticity in that? probably could not afford to buy an espresso maker because of a lot of experiences like mine, and i will not be back to any restaurant with Mark Abernathy's name on it.

  • Pros: if you just want to have a cocktail
  • Cons: dont go to this restaurant for food

overrated

by htownfoodie00 at Citysearch

This is not a very good Italian restaurant. All the dishes contained way too much sauce, and my sauce contained about a cup of oil. Everyone in my group was very disappointed with the food. Despite this, the restaurant atmosphere was nice, the server was fine, and the drinks were great.

  • Pros: Ambience, parking, drinks
  • Cons: the food

Dine on Northern Italian cuisine on the covered patio. Menu includes grilled meats, lamb, seafood, homemade pizza, pasta and salads.

Finally

by mrgoodtaste at Citysearch

We were on vacation and were searching for good food. We found little to speak of in the Hot Springs area, so we drove up the road to Little Rock. Wow!! Owner involved, wonderfull food and fair prices. We were hungry for pizza and we were impressed. Cudos to owners Carl & Cynthia for this special gem.

  • Pros: Quality of food, Price of food, Friendliness of owner
